Our Code of conduct:

The Self Care Sisterhood is a weight neutral, Health at Every Size space caring for those with a broad range of lived experience. As such we have a zero tolerance policy of detailed discussion of weight loss, dieting or restriction, any forms of fatphobia, body shaming, or discrimination of any sort. This includes but is not limited to discrimination or exclusion based on cultural, disability, sexual or gender identity. We respect the individual's right to identify and express themselves with the name, pronouns and identity which feels right to them, and expect all members to behave in a mindful and respectful manner. Through ongoing professional collaboration with eating disorder and trauma informed health professionals we know that discussion of the above topics can cause direct harm to those living with active or historical eating disorders or trauma.

The Self care sisterhood reserves the right to deny entry to our space citing any legitimate concern for the mental or physical wellbeing and safety of our staff and clients.

General Terms of Membership Use:

I understand that my SCS membership is only to be used by myself, and guests must purchase and complete their own liability waver/membership (check out our refer a friend program!). I agree not to provide un-authorized access to the SCS space, products or intellectual property.

Children (16 and under) may attend with their parents in the waiting area, however they are not to use or move any equipment under any circumstances and for their safety must stay at the front of the studio space.

Children under 18 years of age require parent/guardian permission to enter into a membership contract and attend any classes or open gym at the Self Care Sisterhood.

Breach of the above may result in immediate cessation of membership and access and usual “cancellation” fees will apply.

Membership Inclusions:

Flexible access to group classes across our weekly timetable (in line with your membership choice)

Unlimited flexible access to our space during staffed Open Gym Time, including use of our visual program display [CloudFit] and support from our coaches on site.

SCS in your pocket with our in app on demand library, featuring hundreds of digital classes to follow along

Membership to our exclusive members Facebook community.

Members only connection and education events.

Weekly support and education via members only email newsletter.

Plus, additional dynamic member benefits subject to change throughout the year.

Payment Information:

All payments are processed via our member app, The Self Care Sisterhood [powered by Momence].

Payment details are stored securely and encrypted within the Momence software, and it is the responsibility of the individual member to ensure these details are always up to date by logging into the “account” section of the app and updating periodically. SCS staff have no access to payment details and cannot update these on your behalf to ensure financial security at all times.

SCS membership processing takes place on Tuesday or Thursday, weekly. Variation from this is by express permission of the SCS management team and must be agreed upon by both parties in writing for the contract term.

Variations to your membership may include:

  • Upgrade to a more inclusive membership

  • Temporary downgrade to a less inclusive membership (fees and terms apply, see below)

  • Holiday Membership Freeze (fees and terms apply, see below)

  • Cancellation

.

Membership variations are managed via the “members” tab within the SCS website, and must be submitted in line with appropriate notice periods and contract terms. Variations requested via our app, email or phone inbox or in person will not be accepted.

Membership Variation Terms:

Upgrades: You may upgrade your membership to a more inclusive option at any time. Should you choose to do so within your initial 4 month contract period, original contract dates will still stand. Upgrades will continue indefinitely unless an end date is stated at the time of upgrade, at which time membership will revert to original contracted inclusions and value.

Temporary Membership Downgrades: In line with our inclusion and equal access policy, we offer all SCS weekly members whos original contract term [four months] has elapsed the chance to downgrade their membership for up to four weeks, twice per calender year.

Note: Downgrade periods must be separated by a minimum 6 week return to original membership terms, and must be submitted with two calender weeks notice to activate the adjustment.

Membership downgrades are not available within the initial contract term [four months].

Holiday Account Freeze is available in two forms. All freezes made within the original contract term [four months] delay contract end date by the same number of weeks.

Option 1: Total account freeze. Maximum six weeks per calendar year. Access to all SCS member inclusions will be removed throughout the scheduled freeze period.

Option 2: In person access freeze: $12 per week access fee, no maximum use limit, however a scheduled unfreeze date must be provided at time of freeze. Variations to unfreeze date require 2 weeks notice. Option 2 removes access to all in person member benefits (classes, personal training, open gym) but retains access and use of the SCS app, on demand library, facebook community, etc. Option 2 may also serve those who require extended pauses throughout the calender year and have reached their six week yearly total freeze limit.

Please note: under no circumstances may account freezes be backdated, open ended, indefinite, or applied to Intro Offers.

Membership freezes for reasons of extreme injury, chance of circumstance or pregnancy are managed on a case by case basis via the member portal, and are capped 6 months, with contract terms extended accordingly.

Potential additional fees and charges:

In the event of payment failure, Payment Dishonour Fee of $5 will be automatically charged following the successful debit of your membership payment. Payments automatically retry every 24 hours until successful, including dishonour, late cancel and no show fees.

Late Cancellation Fee is automatically charged at a rate of $15 per booking, when cancelling class or open gym reservations within 4 hours prior to booking start time.

Membership Cancellation: Please note all group memberships are a 16 week committment, then rolling until cancelled.

In the event of a membership cancellation within original contract term [16 weeks], a one time cancellation fee of 75% of remaining payments must be paid in order to process the cancellation. Until this one time fee is paid, weekly membership debits will continue as scheduled.

All Group memberships are a minimum 4 month [16 weeks] commitment, followed by rolling payments. To cancel your membership 4 weeks written notice is required. Please note if you are on an old membership type that is rolling, the 4 week cancellation policy still applies.

The SCS may terminate my access to membership inclusions and charge cancellation fees applicable in the event of:

Behaviour in breach of the SCS member code of conduct, attendance policy or repeated class no shows.

Repeated payment failure (3 or more consecutive failed redraws)

Membership terms are subject to change in line with business and community needs, and may be made with appropriate notice wherever reasonable. Initial consent to terms given at time of signup applies to all future updated terms. The SCS will provide an updated copy of terms to all members via email. It is the responsibility of members to read and query any changes with staff.

Class Attendance Policy:

The below applies to all Group Classes and Open Gym Bookings:

All classes are available in app to book up to 2 weeks in advance and may be booked until 15 minutes prior to start time

Bookings may be cancelled with no penalty until 4 hours prior to class start time. Cancellation less than 4 hours prior, or failure to attend a booked class will incur a $15 no show/late cancellation fee.

Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced to ensure fair access to classes for all members as our classes are a boutique service, capped at nine members for strong, 12 members for all mat classes, and 4 members at a time for open gym reservations.

For member safety and class cohesion access to classes will not be granted more than 1 minute after start time. The front door will be locked and signed as such. Failure to attend on time is deemed a “no show” and will incur in the above mentioned $15 no show/late cancellation
